We are currently looking to hire a groundsman to add to our dynamic tree crew!

A good groundsman are responsible for and need to know:

• Safety for all types of equipment used i.e.: chipper, stump grinder, chain saws, skid steer

• Being a reliable member of the team

• Responsive to visual cues and hand signals from the climber/operator and acting promptly with the ground support

• Keep the works area clear of debris, cleaning up limbs and branches as they are brought down in the tree cutting work

• Raking the area clear to maintain the safety zone

• Lining up branches and piling them appropriately for loading into the chipper

• Keeping tools in the staging area and safety zone

• Assuring that all lines are clear at all times

• Being attentive to the climber’s cues throughout the job, always keeping their eyes on the climber/operator

• Hauling brush

• Able to work well in all temperatures/ weather and tolerate excessive noise from machines, chainsaws, wood chipper with use of hearing protection

• In good physical shape and able to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

$17 per hour DOE
